Northern Ireland’s first Children’s Writing Fellow is coming to Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre on Saturday 11th August.

Myra Zepf will facilitate a reading and writing workshop for children aged 4-6 where she will read extracts from her acclaimed book ‘Don’t Go to School.’

The humorous picture book tells the story of a little bear who can’t wait to go to school and a Mummy who isn’t so keen. Illustrated by Tarsila Kruse, the book was recently nominated for the Children’s Book of the Year in Ireland.

Children will also get the opportunity to dance, play games and dress up in an interactive workshop.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Brenda Chivers said: “Myra is passionate about inspiring children and young people to begin reading. This is a wonderful opportunity for local families to enjoy an educational workshop together in our beautiful Art Centre in Limavady. It is one of the many activities taking place as part of August Children’s Month which also includes quality theatre and Family Film Fridays.”

Tickets for the workshop, which takes place from 11am-12pm, cost £5 and are available from the Box Office on 028 777 60650. For more information visit www.roevalleyarts.com
