Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council wants to celebrate the area’s most notable sons and daughters.

The new Museum Services project is part of a wider programme to mark the centenary of Northern Ireland.

Members of the public can get involved now by nominating individuals whose achievements over the last 100 years are worthy of recognition.

Encouraging people to get involved, the Mayor, Alderman Mark Fielding, said: “Famous Sons and Daughters of the Causeway Coast and Glens’ can come from any field, including sport, arts, sciences, community service or politics. The initiative will be used to showcase the actions, achievements and successes of people connected to the Borough and ensure their stories are shared with a new audience.

“We are looking for people who were born or lived here, from any walk of life. We really want to capture a wide variety of subjects, including those people whose achievements might not be so well known. If you know somebody who would fit this project then please get in touch.”

Whether you want to put forward a much-loved community midwife, a dedicated teacher, a respected politician or the stars of a local tug-of-war team from days-gone-by you can have your say and help to ensure the project highlights the very best of our Borough over the last century.
