Talent and achievements will be celebrated at Causeway Coast andGlens Borough Council’s Gala Sports Awards next Friday evening (November 3rd).

Compere Sarah Travers will oversee proceedings in the Lodge Hotel, which will recognise individuals, teams, clubs and administrators who contribute so much to sporting life across the area.

Looking ahead to the evening, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird OBE, said: “Our Gala Sports Awards are an opportunity to thank all those who contribute to our area’s rich sporting tradition. Sports play an important role in our local communities, and I’m delighted that we are able to recognise this through our awards. I look forward to meeting many of our sports people at the event.”

The winners of the four regional heats supported by local Sports Councils held in Coleraine, Ballymoney, Ballycastle and Limavady will be in attendance on the night and 14 awards will be presented to the overall category winners during the Gala Evening.

Tickets for the Sports Awards priced at £20 are available at Cloonavin, Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney, Roe Valley Leisure Centre, Limavady or Sheskburn Recreation Centre, Ballycastle. Ticket sales will close at 1pm on Wednesday 1st November.

This year’s awards are supported by Grafton Recruitment, Kennedy Orthodontics, Smallcost Carpets and Arbutus Catering Group.
