Wed, November 15, 2017

Ballymoney’s Christmas lights will be switched on next Thursday evening (November 16th), marking the start of a busy festive period.

The popular event attracts thousands of people every year, with the light ceiling along Church Street a must-see sight.

Festivities begin at 6.30pm with Beatz Entertainments and carol singing from local choirs followed by the switch-on at 7.30pm with Santa and the Mayor and live music from Curve.

The December festivities will begin with the Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market, which takes place in Castlecroft on Friday 1st December from 11am to 4pm, offering a fantastic array of local art, craft and food produce.

On Small Business Saturday (2nd December), there will be lots of entertainment in the town centre. This will include the fantastic Pony Parade and there’ll be a visit by some reindeers to Castlecroft.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird OBE, said: “Christmas provides the perfect reason to explore all that Ballymoney has to offer. The town has a great variety of independent businesses and I would encourage everyone to enjoy our town and enjoy the build up to the festive season.”

Mrs Claus and Christmas angels will pay a visit on Saturday 9th December from 1pm – 3pm followed by Jack Frost and Tony Tinseltoes on Saturday 16th December.

Ballymoney Chamber of Commerce is bringing a unique experience when the Toon’s Polar Express rolls in to High Street on December 9th & 16th. Santa will also be in his Grotto along with the Reindeers at Castlecroft on these days and Carol Singers will add some extra festive cheer throughout the town.
