Alchemy Growth Programme launched by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council

Thu, March 15, 2018

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has launched a new Alchemy Growth Programme for businesses.

It aims to promote the development of existing and newly established businesses with potential to grow, employ staff and consider opportunities to export.

Targeted at small and medium sized businesses, including social enterprises based in the Borough, the project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.

Welcoming the launch of the programme, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Joan Baird OBE said: “Council recognises the importance of our local businesses and the impact they have on economic prosperity in our area. By offering free tailored support for businesses we believe we can make a significant difference to the local economy. The Alchemy model has proved a great success in recent years and the new version will continue to deliver significant support to local businesses. In fact, Alchemy will support 400 businesses over the next three years and I encourage all those interested to contact Council for further information.”

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has appointed Deirdre Fitzpatrick and Associates to deliver three key elements of the programme: one-to-one mentoring, skills development workshops and business networking events. Deirdre and her team bring a wealth of business knowledge from across a variety of sectors.

Speaking at the programme launch, she said: “We are delighted to be working with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council to help local businesses take important and influential steps in their growth plans.”

The Alchemy Growth Programme will be tailored to individual participants’ needs. Proposed interventions will be designed to fit into, and play a key role, in the continuum of business support provided by Council and partner organisations. Actions supported through Alchemy are designed to create a more sustainable business base in the Borough and subsequently increase levels of employment. Businesses on the Programme will receive a range of benefits including tangible and focused advice, up to five days FREE bespoke mentoring, workshop and networking opportunities and referrals to other relevant business support organisations.
