A night of celebration for Coleraine’s sporting talent

The best of Coleraine’s sporting talent has been celebrated at the town’s annual Sports Awards.

The regional heat took place in the Bann Gallery in Cloonavin on Thursday 3rd October.

Thirteen awards were presented on the night in advance of the overall Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Sports Awards on Friday 1st November.

The winners were:

Junior Sports Woman: Molly Curry, Rowing

Junior Sports Man: Oliver Swinney, Athletics

Junior Sports Team: Bann Rowing Woman’s Junior 8

Sportsperson with a disability: Michael McMullan, Judo

Sports Administrator: Peter Cuckoo, Judo

Services to Sport: Stanleigh Murray, Motor sport

Coach of the Year: Geoff Bones, Rowing

Merit Award: Coleraine Ladies Hockey Club U15’s

Senior Sports Team: Trevor and Alastair Steele, Loughanreagh Indoor Bowls Club

Sportswoman 2019: Katie Shirlow, Rowing

Sportsman 2019: Gary McCloy, Bowls

International Sports Person 2019: Hannah Scott, Rowing

Chairman’s Award 2019: Wilma Erskine, Golf and Gemma Steele, Ten Pin Bowling
