SECTION 1 -
Defining the activity subject to Section 1(1) of the Rural Needs Act (NI) 2016

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.

Undertaking a consultation via a survey regarding the accessibility of Household Recycling Centres.

Yes                  If the response is NO GO TO Section 2E.

 

2B. Please explain how the Policy, Strategy, Plan or Public Service is likely to impact on people in rural areas.

The plan will impact on individuals from rural and urban areas, i.e., users of the household Recycling Centres.  The current service provision is at various sites throughout the borough both in rural and urban areas.
The survey will support Council to gain an understanding of the viewpoints of those living in both rural and urban areas across the Borough and will be considered as part of the overall consultation process.

 

2C. If the Policy, Strategy, Plan or Public Service is likely to impact on people in rural areas differently from people in urban areas, please explain how it is likely to impact on people in rural areas differently.

None anticipated.

No.         If the response is NO GO TO Section 3E.

This is a current service improvement review, there are no plans to change the placement of current Household Recycling Centres.
However, the public consultation may identify currently unknown social and economic impacts.

Considering the Social and Economic Needs of Persons in Rural Areas

 

4A. Please provide details of the issues considered in relation to the social and economic needs of people in rural areas.

There will be no change to the current placement only the service offered.  However, if any detrimental issues are identified they will be highlighted at the relevant Council committee for recommendations.

5A. Has the development, adoption, implementation or revising of the Policy, Strategy or Plan, or the design or delivery of the Public Service, been influenced by the rural needs identified?

Yes.     If the response is NO GO TO Section 5C.

 

5B. Please explain how the development, adoption, implementation or revising of the Policy, Strategy or Plan, or the design or delivery of the Public Service, has been influenced by the rural needs identified.

The consultation process will reach rural dwellers who presently use the sites.  The information and suggestions received will be taken into consideration as part of the service review process.

 

5C. Please explain why the development, adoption, implementation or revising of the Policy, Strategy or Plan, or the design or the delivery of the Public Service, has NOT been influenced by the rural needs identified.
