The first Community Planning Delivery Plan for the Causeway Coast and Glens has been launched
It represents extensive partnership working across the whole range of public services available to the area including health, education, public safety, housing, our communities, the environment and the economy. It is based on the Causeway Coast and Glens Community Plan which provides a long term vision and plan for the Causeway Coast and Glens area and all its citizens, setting out aspirations for a Healthy Safe Community, a Sustainable Accessible Environment and a Thriving Economy.
The outgoing Chair of the Community Planning Strategic Partnership, Alderman William King said: “The focus of the 44 actions outlined in the Delivery Plan is on achieving real outcomes for all who live, work and visit Causeway Coast and Glens. Participating in this process has been very rewarding, particularly through opportunities to work together with all our Community Planning partners representing a wide range of public services.”
Welcoming the Delivery Plan, the new Chair of the Community Planning Strategic Partnership, Councillor Dermot Nicholl said: “We are confident that actions for delivery will address many of the main issues faced on a regular basis by individuals and communities across the area. It is our priority now to proceed with delivering these actions identified in the plan, and help realise our ambitions for a ‘Better Future Together’ in Causeway Coast and Glens.”

CAN (Compass Advocacy Network) is a unique, user-led organisation of people with learning disabilities, based in Ballymoney. Their aim is to promote empowerment and advocacy for young people and adults with learning disabilities through local service provision of activities and work opportunities.
As part of ongoing Community Planning engagement activities, the Community Planning Team hosted some lively and informative participative events with young people and adults from CAN and other local organisations. They told us about their ideas on delivery of local public services including their wishes to have an Easy Read version of the new Community Plan.
